Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement.

MG Live-In Care Services LTD is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain, and imposes the same high standards on its partners.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.

1. Introduction

MG Live-In Care Services LTD has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within our business or our supply chain. We recognize our responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking and we are committed to preventing it in our corporate activities.

2. Our Business and Organisational Structure

MG Live-In Care Services LTD is a carer introductory agency, registered in England and Wales (Company Number: 15578608). Our registered office is located in Central Milton Keynes.

Our business model is to act as an introductory service, connecting self-employed care professionals (“Carers”) with individuals and families seeking live-in care (“Clients”). As an introductory agency, our primary operation is the facilitation of these introductions through our online platform and support team. We do not directly employ the Carers who are introduced to Clients.

3. Our Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking

We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  • Ethical Conduct Policy: Sets out the organisation’s stance on ethical business practices.
  • Recruitment and Vetting Policy: Our rigorous process, including right-to-work and identity verification, helps to mitigate risks of human trafficking.
  • Safeguarding Policy: Outlines our commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, including awareness of exploitation signs.
  • Whistleblowing Policy: Ensures all staff and registered carers can raise concerns without fear of reprisals.

4. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

We understand that our most significant area of risk relates to the self-employed carers who use our platform. To mitigate this risk, our due diligence process includes:

  • Identity and Right-to-Work Checks: Verifying that all carers have the legal right to work in the UK is a critical step in preventing forced labour.
  • Direct Interviews: We conduct face-to-face interviews with all prospective carers to assess their professionalism and ensure they are acting of their own free will.
  • Reference Checks: We verify professional references to corroborate a carer’s work history and professional standing.

We will not hesitate to terminate our relationship with any carer found to be involved in modern slavery.

5. Our Supply Chains

As an introductory agency, our supply chain is limited. We primarily work with UK-based suppliers for services such as IT support, marketing, and professional services. We expect all our suppliers to adhere to the same high ethical standards as we do.

6. Training and Awareness

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business, we provide training to our staff. This training is designed to help our team recognize the signs of modern slavery and to know how to respond and report any concerns.

7. Measuring Our Effectiveness

We will know the effectiveness of the steps we are taking if no reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified, and through regular reviews of our vetting processes.
